Happy International Women's Day!
International Women's Day (March 8) is a globally recognized designated time to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality worldwide.
A short history:
International Women's Day was first celebrated on March 19th, 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland where over a million women and men showed up at public gatherings in support of women's rights.
The celebration emerged from growing activities of labour movements across North America and Europe.
As more countries began to celebrate this day and women's rights movements gained traction, the UN then recognized 1975 as International Women's Year and began the tradition of celebrating March 8th as International Women's Day in 1977 (only 45 years ago)!
Facts:
Women-led entrepreneurship is multiplying worldwide. Between 8 million and 10 million small and medium-sized enterprises across the developing world have at least one female owner as reported by the World Bank in its Female Entrepreneurship Resource Point.
In the US alone, almost half the new start-ups in 2021 were helmed by women which was a massive increase from 28% in 2019.
In 2021, about 80% of the workforce in the event industry was made up of women.
Men still outnumber women 3-1 when it comes to business ownership.
The number of women leading event management companies increased by 40% from 2019 to 2021 and continues to grow.
American Government Data suggests that the event industry was 79.5% female and 20.5% male, yet the average salary for males is $50,531 but only $46,526 for females — an 8.6% difference.
This means that while the event industry is female-dominated, the top-tier positions are male-dominated as the industry has 70% women in the workforce but only 20% upper-level positions.
“Event professionals are responsible for creating the future of human connection and the foundation for that has to be gender equality — ensuring everyone’s voices are heard." - Fiona Pelham, CEO of Positive Impact Events and Chair of ISO 20121
Being a female-dominated industry when it comes to workforce, the Events industry has high potential to shatter glass ceilings and provide equal opportunities to women in leadership.
As a woman-owned business, we are celebrating all the achievements of our fellow women entrepreneurs and all the badass women crushing it in the industry!
May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.
Happy International Women's Day!

Love it
women deserve to be equal in every way With men
they deserve the same pay for the same work
they are just as smart if not smarter then men
there would probably be no wars if they were in charge
